Your tasks
We are currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, and resident-focused Housekeeping Aides to join our dynamic team here at Oakwood Park Lodge. The successful candidates will be committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors while contributing to a positive and supportive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and disinfecting duties throughout the Home in accordance with established policies, procedures, and infection prevention and control practices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment that promotes the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of residents, staff, and visitors.
- Ensure resident home areas and designated spaces are appropriately stocked with essential supplies, including soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, and other hygiene products.
- Follow established infection prevention and control protocols, including the proper use of cleaning products, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing housekeeping supplies and equipment.
- Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
- Respect residents' privacy, dignity, and confidentiality while carrying out assigned duties.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to support quality resident care and services.
- Participate in mandatory training, staff meetings, and ongoing education as required.
- Comply with workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, sanitation, infection prevention and control, and safe cleaning practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a respectful and resident-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety, resident dignity, and quality care.
- Ability to perform the physical duties required in a long-term care housekeeping environment.
What we offer
This is an existing vacancy Pay Rate: As per collective agreement
Pay: $23.18-$24.96 per hour
