Manufacturing Floor Lead

About the Role As a Manufacturing Floor Lead, you will oversee daily departmental operations, ensuring that production goals are met through efficient team leadership and process optimization. You will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement, maintaining high quality standards, and fostering a safe, high-performance manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities Direct machinery setup and changeover processes to maximize operational uptime.

Monitor production workflows to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and quality specifications.

Manage production data and documentation within ERP systems to ensure real-time accuracy.

Analyze scrap rates and lead root cause analysis to implement effective corrective actions.

Oversee staff development, including performance evaluations and the implementation of comprehensive training programs.

Champion site-wide safety initiatives, including EHS compliance and LOTO protocols.

Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to streamline processes and enhance visual factory management.

Optimize staffing levels to align human resources with current and future production demands.

Required Skills

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent professional experience.

Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within metal fabrication or stamping.

Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting industrial machinery.

Proficiency with standard shop measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Ability to lift 50 lbs and maintain physical activity throughout the shift.

Preferred Skills

3+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Demonstrated success in applying Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience operating material handling equipment, including forklifts.

Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
