Finance Manager/Senior Accountant (Retail/Consumer)

Mapped Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a boutique SME luxury beauty brand (circa £5m TO) on their search for a Finance Manager to join their team, with one store and an e-commerce channel.

A permanent opportunity is available, alongside an initial three-month FTC with potential to become permanent. Immediate availability or a short notice period is highly advantageous, particularly for candidates able to start in October 2026.

This position is the number one role in the Finance department, reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely alongside the senior leadership team and external accounting firm. Successful candidates must be comfortable working within a similar hands-on SME consumer environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the GM, supervising one junior finance graduate
• Own the end-to-end month-end and year-end processes alongside external accountants
• Deliver the full month-end close to agreed deadlines, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and supporting schedules.
• Prepare actual versus budget reporting, investigate key variances and provide concise commentary on income and costs.
• Reconcile sales and receipts across retail, wholesale and e-commerce channels, including Shopify and POS data.
• Maintain accurate stock and cost of sales accounting, working with Operations to reconcile inventory movements and investigate discrepancies
• Ensure full utilisation and accuracy of systems (NetSuite, Shopify, POS, etc.)

Key Requirements:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA finalist or newly qualified accountant or equivalent experience.
• Relevant practical experience in month-end accounting , reconciliations and management accounts, gained in industry or practice
• A sound understanding of accruals, prepayments, balance sheet controls and cash flow
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems and financial data
• Retail, beauty, FMCG, stock-based industry experience i s essential
• Experience with NetSuite, Shopify or similar accounting and e-commerce systems is advantageous
• A shorter notice period or immediate availability is highly advantageous

This role is based in a commutable central London area and ideally requires 2 days working in the office and 3 days working from home.
