OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE

An operations executive at a metal scrap recycling company shall oversees daily yard activities, manages material sorting and processing, and coordinates logistics.

Daily Yard & Operations Management

• Yard Coordination: Manage receiving, loading, unloading, sorting, segregation, weighing, and dispatch of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (e.g., copper, aluminium, brass, steel, and cables).
• Equipment Oversight: Monitor the condition of heavy machinery like shears, balers, shredders, weighing scales, and forklifts, reporting faults or maintenance needs quickly.
• Process Optimization: Improve yard layout, reduce material losses, and maximize scrap recovery rates.

Logistics & Supply Chain

• Transport Scheduling: Coordinate collection and delivery timetables with drivers, transporters, suppliers, and buyers.
• Stock Monitoring: Track incoming and outgoing materials to ensure proper grade identification and storage.

Team Supervision & Safety

• Manpower Planning: Deploy daily work schedules, assign priorities, and supervise general yard workers.
• Safety Enforcement: Ensure compliance with workplace safety rules, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and tidy site housekeeping.

Administration & Reporting

• Inventory Control: Maintain accurate digital records of processed and stored materials using Microsoft Excel or internal tracking systems.
• Management Reporting: Prepare daily operational, inventory, and material-movement reports.
