Position overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Pipeline Engineer - Onshore to lead and support pipeline design activities across all project phases including Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design within the oil & gas sector. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and hands-on design experience from reputable engineering consultancies.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver onshore pipeline engineering design activities in line with project specifications, codes, and standards.

Perform and oversee engineering work during Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.

Carry out and review pipeline design calculations including:

Wall thickness design

Buoyancy calculations

Upheaval buckling analysis

Conduct stress analysis using CAESAR II software.

Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and process engineering.

Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and client requirements.

Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and client meetings as required.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university.

Master's degree is an advantage.

Experience

Minimum 17+ years of experience in pipeline design engineering within the oil & gas industry.

At least 10 years of experience in onshore pipeline projects.

Proven experience working with leading engineering consultancies or similar.

Strong experience across Detailed Design, FEED, and Pre-FEED phases.

Proficiency in:

CAESAR II for pipeline stress analysis

Engineering tools such as Excel and Mathcad for design calculations

In-depth knowledge of pipeline engineering principles, codes, and standards.

Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

Preferred qualifications

Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering tasks independently.

Experience working in the Middle East region is an advantage.

Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
