Payroll Advisor (9 month Temp) Location: Warwickshire | Hybrid Structure Contract Type: Temporary | Rate: £20 - £22 per hour

About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established financial services client for a Payroll Officer to join their HR team on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the accurate, timely processing of payroll, coordinating and advising employees, managers and third parties on payroll and pension matters, while ensuring statutory and Group requirements are met throughout.

Job Specification The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Collate, verify and update employee and pensioner data on the payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely payment in line with defined service standards, legislation and Group policies
  • Research, advise and administer pensions processes for employees and pensioners, liaising with relevant third parties in line with service standards and statutory requirements
  • Interpret, advise, investigate and escalate incoming queries on payroll and pensions policies, processes and systems to support a consistent, customer-focused service
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to payroll and pensions procedures and systems arising from new legislation or Group policy changes
  • Coordinate, administer and monitor payroll and pensions documentation to ensure processes are completed within agreed service standards and statutory requirements
  • Deliver aspects of payroll and pensions projects, initiatives and activities as required by the business area or line manager

The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable payroll processing experience, including inputting new starters and finalising leavers
  • Experience using Resourcelink (desirable) or SAP
  • The ability to manually calculate SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, PAYE, holiday and NI accurately
  • An up-to-date understanding of tax coding and HMRC legislative requirements
  • Experience dealing with benefits, salary sacrifice schemes and third-party payments
  • Up-to-date knowledge of real time information, workplace pensions and CSA deductions
  • Previous experience reconciling payroll at year-end, including P35s, P14s and P11Ds
  • A strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes, including tax and superannuation
  • A strong customer service focus, combined with excellent numerical and data input skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
