JRC is actively recruiting an Engineering Technician to join our team in Cape Canaveral, FL. This position reports to JRC’s Systems Engineering and Integration Division. The Engineering Technician will work closely with US Navy government personnel at the Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) Ashore Test Facility. This position will interface and engage with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Branches, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, and other SSP contractors to support operations, maintenance, and testing at a US Navy Test Facility on Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This position requires active SECRET security clearance.
💼 What You'll Do
Operate and maintain US Navy Ballistic Missile Submarine (SSBN) Strategic Weapon System (SWS) equipment
Operate and conduct regular maintenance on the High-Pressure Air, Hydraulic, Chilled Water, Nitrogen, and Low-Pressure Air systems.
Provide technical expertise and guidance in design reviews, trade studies, and other technical meetings
Draft, edit, and maintain equipment operational and maintenance procedures as required.
Establish positive relationships with customers, vendors, engineers, and technicians to plan, modify, and deliver fully operational systems
Require a broad knowledge of facility management, construction techniques, code enforcement, operational safety, and configuration management
🧠 What You Bring to the Table
Knowledge of SPP’s culture and practices
4+ years of SWS experience
Prior Navy SSBN experience
Experience operating, maintaining and repairing high energy systems
An active DoD security clearance at the SECRET level or above (or have held an active DoD clearance within the last 2 years)
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate among multiple industry partners
A willingness to work in a team environment and the ability to work independently while prioritizing and supporting multiple tasks
High-quality communication and presentation dexterity

Experience with the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program and SSP, including its culture, practices, and key stakeholders
Familiarity with technical, logistical, and program hurdles with SWS and SWS Ashore
Experience at Strategic Weapons Facility (SWF)
Experience in writing and developing operational and technical documentation
