Accountabilities: Lead the day-to-day operations of production Google Cloud Platform environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and operational excellence across cloud infrastructure.

Design, implement, and optimize monitoring, observability, alerting, and incident response processes while driving root cause analysis and continuous service improvements.

Build and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code and scripting technologies to improve scalability, efficiency, and operational consistency.

Develop operational standards, documentation, runbooks, and best practices that support long-term platform reliability and knowledge sharing.

Partner with engineering, architecture, and security teams to implement secure, scalable cloud solutions while embedding operational readiness into new services.

Establish cloud governance practices including capacity planning, cost optimization, resource management, and security controls aligned with compliance requirements.

Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend platform enhancements that improve performance, scalability, and long-term operational efficiency.

Mentor junior engineers, promote technical excellence, and foster a collaborative culture focused on continuous learning and operational maturity.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

5+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles, including at least 4 years managing production Google Cloud Platform environments.

Strong expertise with core GCP services including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC networking, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and automation using Python, Go, or Bash.

Solid understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, and cloud-native deployment methodologies.

Experience leading incident response, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing observability and performance monitoring solutions.

Knowledge of cloud networking, security best practices, identity management, cost optimization, and compliance-focused cloud architectures.

GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Professional Cloud Security Engineer are highly valued.

Strong communication, analytical thinking, mentoring abilities, and the capacity to perform effectively in fast-paced, production-critical environments.
