Senior Bedrijfsjurist Role purpose

Provide senior-level legal counsel to support business operations, manage legal risk, and ensure compliance across contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory matters.

Core responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (e.g., supplier, customer, partnership, SaaS/IT, and procurement contracts).
• Advise stakeholders on corporate law, governance, decision-making processes, and board documentation.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks; translate legal requirements into practical business guidance.
• Support compliance activities, including privacy/data protection, competition law, and sector-specific regulations as applicable.
• Manage disputes, claims, and external counsel; coordinate litigation strategy when needed.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks, and contract standards to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Deliver training and clear legal communication to non-legal teams; promote a strong compliance culture.

Required skills and experience

• Proven experience as an in-house counsel or senior business lawyer with strong contract negotiation expertise.
• Solid knowledge of Dutch/EU commercial law; familiarity with privacy (GDPR) and corporate governance is preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management, pragmatic judgment, and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to simplify complex legal topics. ...
