Take the opportunity to join this Tier 1 regional firm in its Private Client team as a Court of Protection Solicitor in Hertfordshire. Looking for greater responsibility and with the opportunity for continued career progression?

You will work closely with the senior team, with the contingency to support and supervise junior members of the team.

The team

The Private Client team advises a broad range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, families, vulnerable clients and their professional advisers.

The team works across a wide range of Private Client matters, with particular expertise in:

  • Court of Protection
  • Wills and estate planning
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Deputyship matters
  • Trusts
  • Estate administration
  • Vulnerable client work

The team also works closely with other departments across the firm, providing opportunities for cross-referrals and the development of long-term client relationships.

The opportunity

You will take responsibility for a varied caseload, with a particular focus on Court of Protection, Wills and LPA matters .

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Property and Affairs matters
  • Deputyship applications and ongoing deputyship work
  • Court of Protection applications
  • Advising vulnerable clients and their families
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Wills and associated lifetime planning
  • Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Working closely with Partners and senior members of the team
  • Supervising and supporting junior lawyers
  • Assisting with the training and development of junior team members
  • Building relationships with professional referrers

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years' PQE
  • Strong experience across Court of Protection, Wills and LPA work .
  • Experience dealing with deputyship applications and ongoing deputyship matters
  • Good technical knowledge of Court of Protection procedures
  • The ability to manage a caseload with a high degree of autonomy
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • A sensitive and professional approach when advising vulnerable clients and their families
  • Experience supervising or supporting junior lawyers
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • A collaborative and proactive approach
  • Experience of professional deputyship, complex Court of Protection applications or higher-value matters would be advantageous.
