Accounts Receivable Manager - Finance Transformation

Contract Duration: 6 Months Rolling

Day Rate: £350 - £400 (Inside IR35)

Location: Remote (with occasional travel)

We are working with a fast growing, Private Equity backed business looking to appoint an Accounts Receivable Manager to play a key role in its ongoing finance transformation.

The business is experiencing significant growth through acquisitions, creating an exciting opportunity for someone who can balance strong operational AR management with driving improvements across systems, processes and controls.

A major focus of the role will be supporting the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, helping to shape and embed a more scalable, consistent and efficient AR function as the business continues to expand.

This is not simply a BAU management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of the operation but equally has the experience and appetite to lead change.

The Role

  • Take ownership of the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, credit control, cash collection and debtor management.
  • Play a leading role in the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, supporting system design, process mapping, testing and implementation.
  • Review and standardise AR processes across the business, particularly as newly acquired entities are integrated.
  • Drive improvements around billing, cash allocation, collections, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Establish consistent processes, controls and KPIs to support a growing and increasingly complex finance function.
  • Lead, develop and support a growing AR team with a mixture of experience and seniority.
  • Work closely with senior finance stakeholders and wider business teams to improve working capital performance.
  • Support the integration of acquired businesses, ensuring finance processes and systems are aligned.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong Accounts Receivable / Credit Control management experience, with a solid understanding of the day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Proven experience contributing to or leading finance transformation initiatives.
  • Experience implementing or significantly improving ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • A strong understanding of AR processes, controls, cash collection and working capital management.
  • Experience managing and developing teams with varying levels of experience.
  • Someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment where processes may still be developing.
  • Experience working within a Private Equity-backed or acquisition-led business would be highly advantageous.
  • A hands-on approach, with the ability to move between strategic transformation and operational delivery.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business at a particularly exciting stage of its growth. With continued acquisitions, significant investment in systems and a growing finance team, the successful candidate will have genuine scope to shape how the AR function operates going forward.

We're looking for someone who enjoys building, improving and transforming rather than simply maintaining the status quo.
