About the company

Job overview UBCS Inc., a design and construction firm based in Mississauga, Ontario, is looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead construction on site. Your primary project will be a two-storey medical clinic expansion in Chatham, Ontario, and you?ll also oversee other UBCS projects as they come up. You?ll be on site daily, running the crew, subcontractors and schedule from mobilization through closeout. This role is for someone who has managed commercial construction on site before and can take ownership from day one.

Your tasks

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site operations and supervise the construction crew and subcontractors
• Manage the construction schedule, keeping work on time, on budget and to specification
• Coordinate with the project team, consultants, inspectors and clients throughout all phases
• Review drawings, specifications and change orders, and make sure work matches the plans
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment and site logistics
• Schedule and coordinate trades, and resolve conflicts or delays quickly
• Enforce health and safety requirements, run toolbox talks and keep site safety documentation up to date
• Conduct regular quality checks and manage deficiencies
• Coordinate building inspections, permits and approvals with local authorities
• Keep daily site logs, progress photos and weekly progress reports for management
• Manage project closeout, including deficiency lists, final inspections and client sign-off
• Ensure all work complies with the Ontario Building Code and company standards
• Support other UBCS projects as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum [5] years of experience as a site manager, superintendent or construction supervisor (strict requirement)
• Proven experience on commercial or institutional builds, ideally healthcare, medical or multi-storey projects (strict requirement)
• Experience leading and coordinating crews and subcontractors on site
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequencing and the Ontario Building Code
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately
• Strong working knowledge of Ontario construction health and safety requirements
• Working at Heights and WHMIS certifications required
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; a calm, solution-focused approach when things change
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project or similar tools is an asset
• Must speak, read and write English fluently
• Valid driver?s license
• References from previous construction employers required

Assets

• Post-secondary education in construction management, civil engineering or a related field
• Gold Seal certification
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Experience with renovations or additions tied into existing buildings
• Fluency in Arabic

What we offer

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience. Details will be discussed with selected candidates.

Pay: $36.00-$42.00 per hour
