Steel Structural Engineer
Study and review preliminary designs, working drawings, specifications and cost estimates related to the project.
- Prepare and issue necessary Assembly and shop drawings for all allocated tasks.
- Make calculations about, loads and stresses.
- Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
- Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
- Prepares design specifications.
- Develops studies and calculation notes for steel structures and structural steel, crane girders .
- Prepare time schedule for executed work versus planned.
- Preparation of follow-up report and its conformity with the time schedule.
- Check technical details and drawings to ensure correct implementation in the field.
- Review products (cranes specifications), analyze materials and determine appropriateness for application to projects.
- Ensure that the fabrication workshop is supplied with all documentation and materials needed to carry out the work.
- Ensure that the work is performed at the required quality standards.
- Perform inspection and prepare documents for entire contract work projects.
- Carry out any other duties as and when required in order to meet the needs of the business.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering "Civil".
- Minimum of 3 -5 years of working experience in Technical Office.
- Competent user of Tekla Structures, AutoCAD & Primavera/ Microsoft project.
- Using SAP2000 structural analysis and design will be an advantage.
- Experience in steel structures is a must.
- Proven experience with technical drawings and details.
- Technical Office related software skills are required.
- Ability to work and perform under pressure.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other team members.
