This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major duties

  • You will analyze, interprets, or clarify directives, decisions, and technical requirements, and the means by which their intent may be achieved for DCMA and the contractors.
  • You will evaluate the efforts of the contractor (using inputs/actions from DCMA and their personnel) in achieving contract and program milestones with respect to technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • You will direct the implementation of the entire body of technical directives relating to contractor and Navy organizations for which SSP and PMOSSP Shipboard Systems maintain control.
  • You will establish levels and types of documentation to be used by the contractor, determine adequacy and approve; as delegated, drawings, specifications, program plans, procedures, reports and all other government controlled documentation.
  • You will serve as a senior SPS official at the site and as such, provide a focal point for contractor and DCMA management interfaces with this detachment.
  • You will be a recognized specialist in the area of systems engineering management, production, and sustainment and may be called upon to provide expert advice and guidance to SSP, other Navy and DoD activities.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: a professional engineer working with complex systems and subsystems, leading teams in program planning, program evaluation, and/or requirements analysis, and representing an organization, and establishing and maintaining relationships with key individuals or groups. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Professional Engineering Series (08XX) - Degree: A professional engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university; OR a degree with curriculum in differential and integral calculus, with additional courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics; or electronics; OR Professional Engineering Series (08XX) - Substitution of Education/Experience: A combination of education and experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering; and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (a) professional registration, (b) evidence of successfully passing the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination; (c) successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified above; or (d) successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering provided that it included at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
