Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Define and drive integrated photonics architectures for trapped ion systems
  • Design photonic interfaces between room temperature laser sources and the cryogenic ion traps
  • Architect and realize on chip photonic components optimized for VIS wavelengths, low loss and minimal stray light
  • Lead precision optical assembly for cryogenic modules
  • Specify and execute metrology and validation at room temperature and cryogenic UHV conditions
  • Drive system level trade-offs and roadmaps for integrated photonics in trapped ion modules
  • Mentor and lead junior engineers, write technical documentation, and contribute to patents and publications
  • Enable scalable cryogenic trapped ion quantum computing through robust integrated photonics

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

  • University degree in Physics, Photonics, or a closely related field (PhD preferred)
  • 10+ years of hands on experience in photonics, optics, and/or precision assembly
  • Experience with trapped ion experiments and a deep understanding of their requirements is a plus
  • Proficiency with optical design and analysis tools and thermo mechanical modeling
  • Direct experience with the characterization and verification of photonic hardware, including cryogenic measurements and reliability of thermal cycling
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and cross functional abilities to interface with physicists, system engineers, fabrication partners and project managers

We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a.
