Metrology Engineer

Are you an experienced Metrology Engineer looking for your next challenge? We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Metrology Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business in Sutton Coldfield . You’ll play a key role in dimensional inspection and validation, supporting Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling and NPI teams.

Metrology Engineer Job Description

• Creating and editing CMM measurement programmes using PC-DMIS
• Carrying out dimensional inspection of mouldings, gauges and fixtures
• Producing professional measurement reports, including FAIR, ISIR and PPIR
• Using CMMs, portable measuring arms and scanning equipment
• Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances and GD&T
• Supporting NPI, Quality, Manufacturing and Tooling teams

Metrology Engineer Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Strong CMM operating and editing programming experience
• Good knowledge of PC-DMIS
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
• Strong understanding of dimensional measurement and analysis
• Experience with FAIR/ISIR/PPIR, MSA, Cpk and SPC
