Senior BI Developer

- Design and build the most complex executive, Group, branch and cross-functional dashboards, scorecards, paginated reports and reporting solutions using governed datasets and shared semantic models
- Set report-development standards for layout, information hierarchy, accessibility, navigation, drill-through, naming, reuse and performance, and establish advanced report-layer Power Query and DAX patterns
- Use strong SQL for complex report sourcing, validation, reconciliation and troubleshooting, and Python for repeatable reporting automation, testing and file-based processing
- Lead the pre-publication quality gate, UAT, retest, release and rollback readiness, and oversee reporting operations including workspaces, gateways, refresh schedules, failures, usage evidence and support queues
- Diagnose escalated refresh, gateway, query, DAX and report-performance issues and lead report migration or re-pointing with parity and regression evidence when sources or semantic models change
- Review BI Developer work, coach the team on SQL, Python, Power BI, DAX, UX and production discipline, rationalise duplicate or unused products, and remain hands-on in the most difficult builds
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; relevant disciplines may include Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business, Finance, Healthcare or Operations
- 5+ years in BI or report development, including at least 2 years delivering complex production BI solutions or acting in a senior or technical-lead capacity
- Advanced Microsoft Power BI — complex DAX and filter context, Power Query, report modelling, visual design, paginated reporting and performance optimisation
- Strong SQL for complex report sourcing, validation, reconciliation and performance analysis, plus strong working Python capability for automation, testing and repeatable data preparation
- Demonstrated ownership of production BI delivery including UAT, deployment, refresh reliability, defect resolution, release evidence, controlled change and reporting-estate support
- Evidence of setting reporting standards, reviewing and coaching developers, and keeping report-level logic separate from reusable enterprise data and semantic logic
