What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include:

Intake and Insurance

Manages the intake of new patients and reviews the insurance verification forms completed by reimbursement staff to determine if the company can service the patient

Develop, streamline and execute intake processes, procedures and policies across the entire organization

Supervises the completion of insurance company contracts and/or necessary forms to maintain or become provider

Manages the patient’s insurance caps and assists with alternative insurance options for at-risk patients

Reports unusual events or trends related to claims or insurance industry to CFO

Supervises and reviews audit records prior to submission to insurance within given timeframe

Proactively improves understanding of bleeding disorders, and all therapy areas' products and treatments; stays current on legislative changes and insurance coverages, and is capable of disseminating this information to employees, patients and others within the communities we serve

Billing and Reimbursement

Develop and execute payer coverage and payment strategy for entire organization.

Work directly with CFO to design scorecard metrics and add value to the ownership of the organization

Develop market access strategy for Medicare and other private health

Work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on strategy and payment

Develop, streamline and execute billing processes, procedures and policies across the entire organization

Manages all billing and reimbursement services across the organization

Manages claim submission; audits and reviews claims to ensure accuracy and timeliness

Records revenue accurately; reports revenue and adjustments to CFO on a monthly basis through sales analysis reports

Trains billing staff on billing processes, procedures and the billing platform software

Keeps informed of billing trends in the insurance industry and with individual payers

Management of Reimbursement: Analyzes the A-R Manager report prepared by reimbursement staff to minimize DSO

Records payments accurately; reports collections and adjustments to CFO on a monthly basis through A-R and cash analysis reports

Predicts cash flow from all payers and facilitates collection of monies

Develops forms and informational tools to assist staff with billing procedures and processes

Develops checks and balance processes to ensure integrity of data and monies

Communicates with field, pharmacy staff, and with patients when needed (new referrals, signed tickets, etc.)

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Participation in membership in professional societies and organizations.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Must have scheduling flexibility and be able to work overtime and on-call coverage.

Overnight travel on occasion by car and airplane.

Careful attention to detail.

Performs related duties as requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires constant sitting with occasional walking, standing, kneeling or stooping.

This position requires the use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects and the ability to reach with hands and arms.

This position requires constant talking and hearing.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

This position must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

Required to move/lift physical hardware.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in health policy, business or relevant discipline.

10+ years’ experience in reimbursement in health care environment.

Previous experience with home infusion and specialty pharmacy.

Basic level of computer and internet skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, etc.).

Excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

Master’s Degree preferred, but not required.

Knowledge or proficiency with CPR+ or similar pharmacy software.

Pay Range/Rate $105,000 — $150,000 USD
