Accountabilities: The Sr. Director, Business Systems Engineering will own the strategy, architecture, and evolution of business-critical systems while building the capabilities needed to support organizational growth. This leader will drive automation, improve data reliability, establish technical governance, and create scalable solutions that connect teams, platforms, and business processes.

Define and lead the enterprise business systems strategy, architecture roadmap, and technology investments aligned with organizational goals.

Architect and evolve an integrated ecosystem across CRM, ERP, HRIS, finance, recruiting, business intelligence, identity, and internal platforms.

Establish engineering standards, governance frameworks, security practices, and ownership models for critical business systems.

Design scalable integrations using APIs, webhooks, middleware, event-driven architectures, and custom engineering solutions.

Build a trusted data foundation that enables accurate reporting, analytics, and executive decision-making.

Transform manual and complex business processes through automation, AI, and emerging technologies.

Partner with executive stakeholders and functional leaders across Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Product, People, Talent, and Engineering to translate business priorities into technical capabilities.

Evaluate technology investments and make strategic recommendations around building, buying, integrating, consolidating, or retiring platforms.

Define success metrics related to system reliability, automation impact, data quality, operational efficiency, and scalability.

Build and lead the Business Systems Engineering function, including team development, operating models, and technical capabilities.

Establish a scalable technology foundation that enables faster execution, improved decision-making, and reduced operational complexity.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a strategic and technically accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience designing enterprise systems, leading technical teams, and driving business transformation through technology. This individual should combine strong architecture expertise with business understanding and executive-level communication skills.

12+ years of progressive experience in business systems engineering, enterprise applications, platform engineering, enterprise architecture, software engineering, or related technical disciplines.

Significant leadership experience owning enterprise systems strategy, architecture, and technical roadmaps within high-growth or global organizations.

Strong software engineering foundation with expertise in APIs, integrations, data models, automation, and modern engineering practices.

Proven experience designing and scaling enterprise SaaS ecosystems, integrations, data pipelines, and automated workflows.

Deep knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, middleware, event-driven architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.

Strong SQL skills and programming experience with modern languages such as Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, or C#.

Experience architecting enterprise technology ecosystems involving platforms such as CRM, ERP, HRIS, identity management, analytics, and automation solutions.

Familiarity with enterprise technologies including Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, Greenhouse, Okta, Snowflake, Databricks, MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato, Airflow, dbt, or comparable platforms.

Strong judgment in areas including architecture decisions, security, controls, platform consolidation, technical debt management, and scalability.

Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing technical teams.

Ability to influence executives and cross-functional leaders by translating complex technical concepts into business outcomes.

Track record of using systems, automation, data, and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency.

Base salary range of $275,000 - $300,000 USD depending on location.

On-target earnings range of $343,750 - $375,000 USD for applicable locations.
