Accountabilities: Lead the complete product lifecycle for Group Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and Statutory Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) products, including market expansion, enhancements, renewals, and optimization.

Drive product strategy, design, positioning, and go-to-market plans to support business growth and competitive differentiation.

Translate regulatory changes and state-level legislative requirements into actionable product, operational, and technology strategies.

Partner with compliance, legal, and filing teams to develop and execute product filings and regulatory strategies.

Establish product governance, standardization, and scalable processes while ensuring alignment with market and regulatory needs.

Analyze product performance using financial, operational, and market data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure successful product development and implementation.

Serve as a subject matter expert for Group Benefits products, providing strategic guidance, internal education, and business enablement support.

Leverage analytics, research, and AI-enabled tools to improve product insights, decision-making, and innovation.

Oversee operational readiness for product launches, including system requirements, testing, process improvements, and stakeholder training.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to broader product strategy initiatives.

Represent the product function in discussions with industry organizations, consultants, and external partners.

Requirements:

15+ years of experience in product management within the insurance or employee benefits industry, with strong expertise in Group Benefits products and multi-state regulatory environments.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Deep knowledge of Group Life, AD&D, Disability, and Statutory PFML products, industry practices, and market trends.

Proven experience managing complex product initiatives from strategy through execution and launch.

Strong understanding of product filings, regulatory interpretation, and compliance requirements.

Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment in highly matrixed, cross-functional environments.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills with the ability to translate insights into business decisions.

Advanced project management capabilities, including experience with agile methodologies and collaboration tools.

Strong written, verbal, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results with limited oversight.

Experience collaborating with external partners such as consultants, research firms, and third-party providers.

Experience launching products on new administrative or digital platforms, including requirements gathering, testing, and implementation support.

Ability to travel approximately 10–15% as needed.
