Site QS Engineer (Electrical)
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Site QS Engineer (Electrical) will manage post-contract quantity surveying, tendering, cost estimation, and procurement activities for a hospital project located in Outram. This role acts as a bridge between commercial management and on-site engineering operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender & Cost Estimation: Assist the Manager in drafting tender documents, evaluating budget estimates, conducting market rate analysis (materials and labor), and responding to tender clarifications/interviews.
- On-Site Measurement & Vendor Management: Verify bills, quantities, and variations with subcontractors and suppliers; participate in site show rounds for prospective tenders.
- Handover & Coordination: Cross-coordinate with internal site/engineering departments and hand over awarded tender files and costings to project execution teams.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within an M&E Subcontractor / Main Contractor environment.
- Technical Combination: Practical background in Site Engineering paired with hands-on Quantity Surveying (QS) duties in electrical systems.
- Key Strengths: Strong technical problem-solving during tenders and effective vendor negotiation skills.
