Our client is a leading OEM supplier of products and services for medical devices and procedures.

The primary purpose of this job is to develop and deploy best practices utilizing lean expertise across all the company's manufacturing facilities. Identify and eliminate wasteful activities from work space. Works to find new and efficient ways to save money. Develops and evaluates quality processes and system standards to ensure efficiency. Specifies safe, inexpensive materials to use while concentrating on safety of employees and work area. Focus is on wastefulness of products and elimination of extra parts that are not needed. Modifies, applies and implements cost-effective standards. Evaluates operations and productivity. Fosters innovation and integrates new technologies.

Minimum Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline. Degree in Industrial Engineering desirable. Masters degree preferred. 7 years of manufacturing experience. Minimum 3 years leading and implementing improvement. Lean manufacturing concepts including time studies, value stream mapping, pull systems, problem solving and 5S. Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to lead team activities, excellent problem solving skills. Analytical and computer skills of advanced Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio. Training experience helpful.

Performs gap assessment of manufacturing systems and processes across all manufacturing facilities. Identifies best manufacturing practices utilized across Greatbatch and external industries. Works with plant leadership teams to define, develop and deploy best manufacturing practices across all Greatbatch manufacturing facilities. Provides training and mentoring on processes being deployed. Supports Lean CoE team in leading cross-functional teams through Kaizen events and the implementation of the lean toolset (e.g. cellular flow, line balancing, standard work, 5S, material and information flow, total productive maintenance, quick change-over.) Acts as plant expert in lean manufacturing. Performs other functions as required.
