We are looking for a Junior-level Database Administrator who will be responsible for supporting the management, security, and optimization of database environments across Oracle (CDB/PDB, RAC), PostgreSQL, and SQL Server platforms. This role assists in ensuring high availability, compliance, and performance of critical data systems on both Linux and Windows operating systems. The DBA will also contribute to performance tuning, reporting, backup and recovery activities, and maintaining compliance with company policies and standards while working closely with senior team members.

Primary Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases on Linux, Windows, and virtualized environments under the guidance of senior DBA.

Assist in configuring, optimizing, and maintaining Oracle Multitenant Architecture (CDB/PDB) and RAC (Real Application Cluster).

Support the monitoring and administration of database clusters, replication, and HA/DR environments.

Manage database objects (schemas, tables, views, indexes).

Assist with database upgrades, patching, and migrations.

Participate in implementing backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.

Performance Tuning & Optimization

Monitor database performance using AWR, ASH, SQL Profiler, EXPLAIN plans, and system metrics.

Assist in SQL query tuning, memory optimization, and I/O performance improvements.

Support indexing and partitioning initiatives to enhance database performance.

Security, Compliance & Auditing

Follow database security best practices, including access control, encryption, and auditing.

Support compliance activities related to regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).

Assist in maintaining audit logs, access reports, and configuration baselines.

Backup, Recovery & High Availability

Perform regular database backups according to established policies and procedures.

Assist in managing RMAN, pgBackRest, and native SQL Server backup strategies.

Participate in disaster recovery testing and recovery validation exercises.

Support the administration of Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, and PostgreSQL replication environments.

Monitoring & Reporting

Support database monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager, pgAdmin, SQL Server Management Studio, and third-party tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus).

Monitor alerts and escalate issues when necessary.

Prepare regular reports on database health, performance, capacity, and compliance.

Automation & Scripting

Assist in automating administrative tasks using Shell scripting and PowerShell.

Develop and maintain scripts for backups, health checks, and routine maintenance activities.

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

0-2 years of experience in Database Administration or database-related roles.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL Server administration.

Exposure to Oracle Database administration; experience with RAC is considered an advantage.

Understanding of database performance tuning, backup/recovery concepts, and security best practices.

Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.

Exposure to cloud-based database platforms (Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is a plus.

Familiarity with DevOps concepts and CI/CD processes for database deployments is an advantage.

Good documentation and change management skills.

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), PostgreSQL certification, or Microsoft Azure Database certifications are considered an advantage but not required.
