Own the project. Deliver the result.

Fortica builds and finishes data centres across Norway and the Nordics. As Project Manager you own the total result of the project: safety, time, cost, quality, the client relationship and the commercial outcome. You lead through a strong site organisation with senior site managers, site managers, supervisors and foremen.

The projects

You will lead large data centre projects for international clients in Narvik, Kristiansand and Fyresdal. These are complex, fast-moving projects where many trades work side by side, and where quality and deadlines are critical. Later, there may also be opportunities on projects outside Norway.

Our scope on site: ceilings, sandwich panels (insulated wall and roof panels), flashing, penetration sealing, finishing works and site services.

What you will do

Project delivery

  • Lead the project from mobilisation to close-out and final handover
  • Build and follow up the master schedule, milestones and RFS dates (the date the client needs the data hall ready for service)
  • Plan resources and manage risks, deviations and corrective actions
  • Approve site execution plans and recovery plans when the project is behind
  • Agree the commissioning plan (testing before handover) with the client and own the contractual completion

Budget and commercial

  • Own the project budget, forecast, cash flow and margin
  • Keep commercial risk under control and report on cost and forecast every month
  • Manage contract obligations, change orders, variations and claims under Norwegian standard contracts (NS 8405 / 8406 / 8407)
  • Lead procurement of subcontractors and suppliers together with our commercial team
  • Give pricing input to offers and tenders, and take part in bid strategy for new data centre projects

Client and stakeholders

  • Lead steering meetings and status reporting to the client and senior management
  • Coordinate the client, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and authorities
  • Make sure the project follows HSE requirements, the SHA plan (the client's health and safety plan for the site), client standards and company policies

Leadership

  • Build and lead the project leadership team, and set clear priorities and responsibilities
  • Approve resource and rotation plans, and decide on recruitment of site leaders
  • Develop your senior site managers toward project leadership
  • Lead final handover, close-out and lessons learned

What success looks like

  • The project is delivered on the agreed milestones and RFS dates
  • The margin is protected and the forecast is accurate
  • Zero serious incidents
  • A satisfied client who wants to work with us again
  • A stable leadership team and a clean close-out

Who you are

  • 10–15 years' experience as a Project Manager in construction, data centres, critical infrastructure, energy, industry or other complex technical projects
  • Proven delivery of large multi-discipline projects with many subcontractors and stakeholders
  • Strong experience with budget responsibility, cost control, forecasting, planning, risk management and reporting
  • Good understanding of technical building systems and commissioning
  • Knowledge of HSE / QHSE and systematic handling of deviations
  • Professional English, spoken and written. Norwegian is a strong advantage.
  • A degree in engineering, construction management or project management is a plus
  • PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA or similar certification is a plus
  • Experience from data centres, critical facilities or fit-out and building envelope work is a strong plus

What makes you a good fit

You are a clear and confident leader with strong commercial understanding. You keep the big picture without losing control of the details, and you make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment. You communicate well with both technical and non-technical people, negotiate with confidence, handle conflicts and lead people from different backgrounds and cultures. Quality, safety and transparency always come first for you.
