Description:

Software Engineer – AI, Automation & Interactive Applications

XXXX LOCATION Luxembourg EMPLOYMENT TYPE Full-time DEPARTMENT Software Engineering / Product Development

About the Role

XXXX is looking for a Software Engineer – AI, Automation & Interactive Applications to contribute to the design and development of modern software products combining full-stack engineering, applied artificial intelligence, business automation, and advanced interactive web technologies. The role requires a cross-functional technical profile capable of working across several layers of an application, from React and TypeScript user interfaces to C#/.NET backend services and Microsoft SQL Server, while also contributing to LLM-powered features, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, workflow automation, and interactive visualization. This position is intended for an engineer who is comfortable moving beyond conventional frontend/backend development and working on applications that combine traditional software engineering with AI integration, Microsoft ecosystem technologies, automation, graph-based interfaces, and interactive 3D web experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Develop backend services, business logic, and REST APIs using C# and .NET.
  • Design and work with relational databases using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Participate in the architecture and implementation of complete full-stack applications.
  • Integrate Large Language Models and generative AI services into software products.
  • Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) functionality for contextual information retrieval and AI-assisted application features.
  • Work with structured and unstructured information and integrate AI-based processing into application workflows.
  • Design and implement business-process automation and internal digital solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Build advanced visual and workflow-oriented interfaces using React Flow or comparable node- and graph-based technologies.
  • Develop interactive web-based 3D components and experiences using Three.js / WebGL where required.
  • Integrate external APIs and services into existing software architectures.
  • Develop reusable frontend and backend components across multiple company products.
  • Participate in technical prototyping and UI/UX discussions using Figma.
  • Evaluate new frameworks, libraries, AI services, and APIs and determine how they can be integrated into existing products.
  • Participate in application testing, debugging, optimization, deployment, maintenance, and technical documentation.
  • Work independently on technical challenges while collaborating closely with the engineering and product teams.

Required Technical Profile

Candidates should demonstrate practical, hands-on experience with a combination of modern full-stack development and emerging application technologies.

Strong practical knowledge is expected in the following areas:

  • React
  • TypeScript / JavaScript
  • C# / .NET
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • REST API development and integration
  • HTML / CSS
  • Git-based development workflows
  • Modern full-stack web application architecture

In addition to the core software-development stack, candidates should have practical experience with AI-enabled application development, including:

  • Integration of LLMs and generative AI APIs
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • AI-assisted processing of structured or unstructured information

XXXX • Software Engineer – AI, Automation & Interactive Applications

  • Contextual retrieval and AI-driven application features

The role also requires practical exposure to technologies outside conventional full-stack development, particularly in the areas of automation and interactive application development.

Relevant experience should include several of the following:

  • Microsoft Power Platform
  • React Flow or comparable graph/workflow visualization technologies
  • Three.js / WebGL
  • Workflow and process automation
  • Interactive data or process visualization
  • Integration of third-party AI and software services

Cross-Domain Engineering Profile The position requires an engineer capable of contributing across multiple technical domains within the same product.

Depending on project requirements, the engineer may be expected to:

  • Develop a React/TypeScript interface;
  • Implement the corresponding .NET backend and database integration;
  • Integrate an LLM or RAG-based functionality;
  • Implement or connect an automated business workflow;
  • Develop specialized graph-based or 3D visual components;
  • Integrate external APIs and emerging AI services.

Candidates should therefore be comfortable working beyond a single specialization and be able to move effectively between frontend development, backend engineering, AI integration, automation, and interactive visualization.

Candidate Profile

  • Engineering degree, Master's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent higher-education qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong software-engineering fundamentals and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Practical experience developing full-stack web applications.
  • Ability to contribute to both frontend and backend development.
  • Practical familiarity with LLM-based and AI-enabled application development.
  • Experience working with Microsoft-oriented development technologies.
  • Ability to quickly learn and integrate new frameworks, APIs, and technical tools.
  • Comfortable working across different technical domains rather than being limited to a single development specialization.
  • Ability to independently investigate technical challenges and transform requirements into working software solutions.
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic product environment where engineers contribute across multiple areas of the application lifecycle.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Languages

  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Professional working proficiency in French
  • Additional languages are considered an advantage

Additional Assets

The following experience would be considered an advantage:

  • Python
  • Docker
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Vector databases and embedding-based retrieval
  • Automated testing
  • Real-time web applications
  • Computer graphics
  • UI/UX prototyping with Figma
