The role As a UAV Calibration Technician & Test pilot at DeltaQuad, you play a key role in validating and optimising the performance of our UAV systems. You are responsible for preparing, executing, and analysing test activities for our VTOL drone platforms, ensuring reliable and consistent system behaviour across all operational scenarios. You work at the intersection of engineering, production, and field operations. By conducting structured flight tests and calibration procedures, you verify the performance of flight control systems, propulsion systems, sensors, and payload integration. You analyse flight logs and test data to identify opportunities for improvement and support engineering teams in refining system performance, reliability, and safety. Your work ensures that every system leaving production meets DeltaQuad’s high standards for operational performance. You enjoy working hands-on with hardware, operating drones in real-world environments, troubleshooting technical challenges, and translating test results into actionable improvements. Your work directly contributes to the reliability, safety, and operational capability of DeltaQuad UAV systems deployed worldwide. Key tasks and responsibilities Prepare and execute structured UAV flight tests for system validation and performance verification

Perform calibration of sensors, autopilot systems, propulsion interfaces, and payload integrations

Develop and maintain flight test procedures and validation protocols

Analyse flight logs and system telemetry to evaluate system behaviour and performance

Validate system functionality across multiple flight phases, including VTOL, transition, and fixed-wing operation

Document test results and provide clear technical feedback to engineering and production teams

Support improvement of system performance, reliability, and flight stability

Ensure safe execution of drone operations in compliance with aviation regulations and operational procedures.

What you bring A bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related technical field

Valid EU drone pilot certificates A1, A2, and A3 are required for conducting UAV flight operations

Experience with UAV systems, robotics, or flight testing is a strong plus

An understanding of flight control systems, sensors, and UAV system architecture is preferred

Experience analysing flight logs or telemetry data is a plus

Hands-on, analytical, and precise. You enjoy diagnosing technical issues and improving system performance

Comfortable working both in the lab and in outdoor field test environments

A team player who communicates clearly and takes ownership

Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
