Nominated Postholder - Flight Operation

Beyond is the world's first premium leisure airline. As we continue to expand our regulatory and operational footprint, we are establishing a Bahrain Air Operator Certificate (AOC) under the oversight of the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (BCAA). We are seeking a nominated postholder flight operations to lead the development, certification and oversight of the flight operations function for our Bahrain AOC, based in Manama, Bahrain.

Role summary

The nominated postholder flight operations is appointed by, and reports to, the accountable manager, and is responsible for:

Ensuring safe and efficient flight operations and remaining in compliance with the applicable Bahrain Air Navigation Technical Regulations (ANTR) and BCAA requirements for the operational area under your responsibility

Determining flight operational standards, practices and safety policy, ensuring compliance with the applicable regulations and the AOC, and providing effective standard operating procedures

Defining the flight operations budget and overseeing flight operations support, including crew scheduling and operations control

Assessing and reviewing route and aerodrome selection and flight-crew competency, and liaising with the nominated postholder – ground operations on new airports and handling requirements

Issuing, or delegating the issue of, operations manual parts A, B and C, the cabin safety manual and the cabin operations manual, and implementing new BCAA/EASA/ICAO requirements, in coordination with compliance monitoring

Leading crew resource management and implementing the department safety management system (SMS) under the safety manager

Requirements

This is a nominated postholder position under the applicable Bahrain Air Navigation Technical Regulations (ANTR) and associated BCAA requirements and guidance. Appointment is subject to formal nomination to and acceptance by BCAA.

Mandatory

Hold, or have held, a valid flight crew licence (ATPL/CPL) with ratings appropriate to a type of operation conducted under the AOC (Bahrain CAR-OPS / ORO.AOC.135)

At least 5 years' relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years in the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position (Bahrain CAR-OPS / ORO.AOC.135)

Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices

Thorough knowledge of the applicable Bahrain ANTR and BCAA requirements, operations manual structure and flight-time-limitation schemes

Must be acceptable to BCAA following formal assessment

Desirable

Current or recent command on the Airbus A320/A321 family

Prior experience as a nominated postholder / a new-AOC stand-up

ICAO English Level 4 or above where operational
