About the role Spend your placement year in Audit at HaysMac, gaining hands-on experience with a diverse range of clients while developing the professional and technical skills needed for a successful career in accountancy. Audit is about providing independent assurance that financial statements are accurate and reliable. As an Audit Placement Associate, you will help organisations build trust in their financial reporting, supporting better decision-making for stakeholders and the wider business community. From day one, you will join one of our sector teams, specialising in sectors such as Creative, Media & Technology, Property, Hospitality, Financial Services or Social Purpose. You'll gain valuable exposure to different industries, business environments, and client challenges while working alongside experienced professionals who will support your development throughout your placement. What you’ll be doing As an Audit Placement Associate, you'll work as part of a team delivering high-quality audits. Your responsibilities will include: Testing financial transactions (e.g. invoices, payments, and receipts) Reviewing financial data to identify risks or inconsistencies Preparing audit working papers and documenting findings Supporting seniors and managers throughout the audit process Attending client meetings and building relationships with client teams Working both in the office and on client sites Working at HaysMac We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where you can thrive. Candidate Profile We are looking for individuals who are curious, motivated and eager to learn. You should: Be a strong communicator, with the confidence to build relationships with colleagues and clients Demonstrate curiosity and critical thinking, with the ability to question and analyse information Have a genuine interest in how businesses and organisations operate Enjoy working collaboratively and contributing ideas within a team environment Be adaptable and able to manage changing priorities and deadlines Show attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability Be comfortable working with data and using technology to analyse information Take initiative and demonstrate a proactive approach to your development Act with integrity and professionalism in all situations Academic Requirements On track for a minimum 2:2 degree in any discipline
