Food Server
The Waiter/Waitress will deliver a stellar dinning experience to customers by taking orders and serving food and beverages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate fully in preparation before service
- Ensure all service equipment are clean
- Make requisitions for service items e.g., take out bags, napkins, etc.
- Check with the hostess for reservations
- Ensure personal hygiene is always maintained
- Clear and maintain table cleanliness
- Administer change to tables when needed
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses
- Communicate order details to the Kitchen staff
- Provide excellent wait service to ensure customers’ satisfaction
- Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g, aboutportions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
- Take accurate food and drinks orders using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization
- Serve customers in an accommodating manner
- Deliver food and beverages to any table as needed
- Ensure prompt remittance of payment collected
- Request feedback from the customers
- Give report on all customers’ feedback to the Head Waiter
- Follow health code standards with regards to the handling of food
- Have an unavailable list of foods and drinks or 86 items
- Full participation in close of shift duties cleaning of tables, washing and sterilizing cutleries, rearranging restaurant to default service
- Assist in keeping the restaurant clean and safe
- Report to duty on time and in proper uniform
- Meet with the NOK Manager to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g., parties)
- Perform any other task as assigned.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Ability to learn menu items and specials
- Good understanding of food and restaurant etiquette
- Knowledge of health and food safety regulations
- Ability to consolidate and coordinate needs for all tables within their station
- Hands-on experience with ordering and remitting orders.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate
- Minimum of 1 year’ work experience as a Waiter/Waitress in the hospitality industry
- Certification from a hospitality school is an added advantage.
