Quality Technician I

Responsibilities: Pre-op Inspections
First Article Inspections
Product sampling and in-line testing
GMP enforcement
Finished Product inspections
Root-cause analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations
Documentation review and acceptance
Quality incident and deviation reporting
Quality investigations and continuous improvement
Supports the QA Manager during internal audits
Conducts periodical inspections in coordination with the QA Manager
Offers support for personnel training, quality standards and GMP Practices
Assists in the development, review and revisions of SOP’s
Performs calibration verifications and operational checklists
Environmental monitoring
Pest control and contamination monitoring
What you'll need to succeed: Attention to detail
Accuracy and detail in documentation
Critical Thinking
Proven root-cause analysis skills
Adept at using Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in collaboration with different departments (Cultivation, Processing, Manufacturing and Compliance)
Proficiency with Internal Audits and Regulatory inspections
Experience with chain-of custody protocols
Certification as a Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) by the American Society of Quality (ASQ) is a plus
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology or related field preferred
1+ year of experience in a Quality Assurance, quality control or regulated production environment (cannabis, pharmaceutical, food/beverage industries)
Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
Experience with GMP, Sanitation and HACCP are a plus
Must be at least 21 years of age
Ability to pass a state-mandated background check and obtain a Texas Compassionate Use Program (CUP) card
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20-30 lbs. for extended periods
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including facemask, beard net, lab coat, shoe covers and hairnet
Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity levels and plant material/allergens typical of a cannabis cultivation and production environment
Ability to work in a controlled-access facility with strict security and compliance protocols.
