Role Description The Coding and Marking Technical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Accra. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining industrial coding and marking equipment across customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. The role includes diagnosing technical issues, performing repairs and preventive maintenance, and providing on-site testing, commissioning, and calibration of machines. The engineer will support customers with technical advice, training operators on correct usage and basic troubleshooting, and documenting service activities and reports. Daily tasks also involve collaborating with sales and customer service teams to recommend suitable coding and marking solutions, coordinating spare parts and consumables, and ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong technical skills in installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial coding, marking, and packaging equipment. Candidates should possess troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, including use of tools, test equipment, and technical documentation. Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical specifications. Candidates should possess customer service and communication skills to provide clear technical support, training, and professional on-site interactions. Candidates should possess organizational and time management skills to plan service visits, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate service records. A degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering (or a related field) is preferred. Experience with industrial printers, inkjet or laser coding systems, and production line automation is an advantage. Knowledge of safety standards and best practices for working in manufacturing environments is beneficial.
