Job Description: Part-Time French Teacher

Sri Sathya Sai Global School seeks a dedicated French Teacher to deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for students from Grade 1 onwards. The teacher will help students build confidence in French while encouraging curiosity, cultural awareness and respect for others.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured French lessons covering listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Develop vocabulary, pronunciation and conversational skills through stories, songs, games and practical activities.
• Adapt lessons to students’ ages, learning needs and proficiency levels.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, teaching resources and assessments.
• Monitor student progress, maintain learning records and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom with clear expectations for behaviour and participation.
• Work collaboratively with school leaders and teachers to support curriculum planning and school activities.
• Uphold the school’s values, safeguarding practices and professional standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Relevant degree or diploma in French, languages, education or a related field; a teaching qualification is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in spoken and written French, with clear communication skills in English.
• Experience teaching French to school-age children is preferred.
• Ability to make language learning interactive and accessible to beginners.
• Strong classroom management, lesson planning and organisational skills.
• A patient, dependable approach and willingness to work effectively with colleagues.

Working Arrangements

Teaching days and hours will be agreed according to the school timetable. Responsibilities include lesson preparation, assessment and progress reporting. Remuneration will be discussed based on qualifications, experience and the agreed scope of work.
