Due to very high demand, South View School is growing rapidly and we are seeking a Teacher of Photography and Art to join our Creative Arts Department immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an ambitious, forward-thinking school, building on strong foundations and contributing to a vibrant and creative learning environment.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Art and Photography education, inspiring students to develop strong technical skills, creative confidence, and a deep appreciation of visual communication and artistic expression.

The ideal candidate will:

Demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching and learning within the visual arts.

Have experience teaching Art and/or Photography at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with experience or a willingness to teach Key Stage 5 desirable.

Possess strong subject knowledge across fine art, drawing, painting, mixed media, and photography, including digital imaging and editing software.

Have a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning with strong student outcomes.

Understand how to support students with additional needs, including SEND and EAL learners.

Demonstrate strong pastoral skills, supporting students’ wellbeing and personal development.

Use assessment data effectively to inform planning, adapt teaching, and support student progress.

Be willing to lead and participate in enrichment activities, such as clubs, exhibitions, competitions, trips, and whole-school creative projects.

Hold a recognised degree in Art, Photography, or a related subject, alongside a recognised teaching qualification.

Be committed to continuous professional development, engaging fully with the CPD opportunities available at South View School.
