Job Summary
We seek a passionate and responsible Teacher to deliver engaging lessons and enrichment activities for primary school children aged 6–12, fostering academic growth, personal development, and a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to primary school students’ learning needs in subjects including English, Chinese, spelling, and ting xie
- Supervise homework and provide academic support to enhance student understanding and progress
- Monitor and assess students’ learning progress, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse needs
- Prepare worksheets, learning materials, and classroom activities that support curriculum goals
- Conduct and support enrichment activities such as art, life skills, positive education, and creative learning to promote holistic development
- Encourage student participation in hands-on, screen-free activities, outdoor learning, educational games, and field trips
- Foster creativity, teamwork, communication, and independence through experiential learning opportunities
- Create and maintain a safe, caring, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning
- Supervise students during lessons, breaks, meals, and activities to ensure safety and positive behaviour
- Observe and document student development, communicating concerns professionally to management or parents as needed
- Manage minor classroom conflicts calmly and professionally to maintain a positive learning atmosphere
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, homework, and behaviour updates
- Collaborate closely with Teacher Assistants, fellow teachers, and management to support programme goals
- Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and programme planning initiatives
- Assist with daily centre operations including student arrival/dismissal, classroom organisation, attendance records, and compliance with safety and child-protection policies
- Support additional centre duties and projects as required to ensure smooth programme delivery
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Education, Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience in teaching, tuition, student care, or enrichment centres is advantageous
- Strong English communication skills
- Proficiency in Chinese language is an advantage
- Experience teaching primary school students
- Skills in art, music, sports, dance, life skills, or other enrichment areas are beneficial
- Basic digital literacy and administrative skills
- Passion for experiential, play-based, and screen-free learning approaches
