Role Description The Coding and Robotics Facilitator will deliver hands-on lessons and workshops that introduce learners to basic programming concepts, robotics hardware, and problem-solving through technology. This part-time, on-site role in Weija involves planning and organizing learning activities, guiding learners through coding exercises, supervising simple robotics projects, and ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment. The facilitator will prepare instructional materials, set up and maintain equipment, provide clear demonstrations, and offer individual support to learners with varying levels of experience. The role also includes monitoring learner progress, giving constructive feedback, collaborating with other staff to align activities with broader learning goals, and communicating session updates to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

Strong foundational skills in coding (e.g., block-based or introductory text-based programming) and basic robotics concepts suitable for teaching beginners. Ability to design structured, age-appropriate learning activities and explain technical topics in clear, accessible language. Experience facilitating group learning, mentoring, or instruction in educational or workshop settings. Comfort with using and maintaining computers, robotics kits, and related classroom technology. Effective communication, patience, and a learner-centered approach to supporting individuals with different skill levels. Organizational skills for lesson planning, time management, and documenting learner progress. Prior experience in STEM education, after-school programs, or community training initiatives is an advantage. Relevant coursework or qualifications in computer science, engineering, education, or a related field are beneficial.
