poultry operation supervisor

Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience.

Work site environment:

Broiler and other meat-type chicken production. Dangerous. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Odours. Outdoors. Livestock.

Work setting:

Rural area. Staff accommodation available.

Tasks:

• Handling animals.
• Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures.
• Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
• Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs.
• Maintain work records and logs.
• Perform general farm duties.

Supervision:

11-15 people.

Equipment and machinery experience:

Feeding and watering system.

Area of specialization:

Poultry.

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Large workload.
