About Repton School Dubai

Repton Dubai is a prominent international school in the heart of Dubai and one of the few schools in Dubai to boast an Outstanding rating from the Dubai Schools Inspection Board since 2014. Purpose of the Role

The Cover Supervisor is responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students continue to engage in meaningful learning activities in a safe, orderly, and productive environment. The role supports the smooth day-to-day operation of the Senior School and contributes positively to students’ academic progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Supervision:

Supervise classes during the absence of the regular teacher across a range of subjects and year groups.

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain on task.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy and expectations.

Create a calm, purposeful, and inclusive learning environment.

Ensure that learning objectives and instructions provided by teaching staff are followed accurately.

Support students in completing assigned tasks while encouraging independence in learning.

Student Welfare and Safeguarding:

Promote the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of all students.

Maintain high standards of supervision and duty of care at all times.

Report safeguarding concerns promptly in accordance with school procedures.

Uphold the school’s safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies.

Administrative and Operational Support:

Lead the administration and planning of pre-planned and unplanned cover within the school MIS system.

Record student attendance accurately and report absences as required.

Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson progress, behaviour, and any issues arising during cover lessons.

Assist with examinations, assessments, or other school events when required.

Support wider school operations including duties, break/lunch supervision, and enrichment activities.

Behaviour Management:

Apply school policies consistently to maintain positive behaviour and high expectations.

Address low-level disruption effectively and escalate more serious incidents appropriately.

Build positive professional relationships with students based on mutual respect.

Professional Responsibilities:

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.

Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

Demonstrate commitment to the school’s values, ethos, and mission.

Successful candidates will have

Bachelors of Education or PGCE with appropriate specialism, OR

Bachelors in subject relevant to teaching specialism plus PGCE in Primary Education.

Experience teaching in a UK setting or renowned British Curriculum / international school.

Appropriate experience which enables them to contribute to our school enrichment programme.
