Reed FE are seeking dedicated Lecturers for our Foundation Learning (Entry Skills Pathways and SEMH) department. This role involves teaching, tutoring, and supporting learners primarily with SEMH needs, often alongside additional challenges such as autism and ADHD. The successful candidate will deliver a curriculum that includes English, maths, and personal development, focusing on project-based learning and enrichment activities that foster confidence and skills for adulthood. Lecturer – Entry Skills Pathways Annual Salary: £30-£35 per hour Location: London East Job Type: Full-time Monday - Friday Day-to-day of the role: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality teaching and learning for learners with SEMH, ensuring lessons are engaging, accessible, and differentiated. Deliver English, maths, and tutorial sessions that promote participation, skill development, and personal growth. Lead enrichment activities that build confidence, resilience, and engagement. Use innovative teaching strategies to motivate learners who may struggle to engage or have challenging behaviour. Monitor learner progress and adapt teaching approaches to provide timely support. Build positive, trusting relationships with learners, promoting re-engagement and resilience. Maintain accurate learner records and participate in course team meetings and quality assurance activities. Required Skills & Qualifications: Must hold a full level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or DET). 1st Degree or equivalent preferred. Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C/4). Significant experience teaching learners with low starting points and SEMH needs. Experience delivering English and maths up to GCSE level. Ability to plan, adapt, and differentiate learning to meet individual learner needs. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with learners, colleagues, and external partners effectively.
