Steel Shipping Lead Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Shift: First Shift Job Type: Contract to Hire Pay Rate: Starts at $26.00 (Higher rates available depending on experience) We are seeking an experienced Shipping Lead to oversee steel loadout operations in a fast-paced structural steel fabrication environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, accurate, and on-time shipments while leading and supporting the shipping team.

What You’ll Do Lead day-to-day steel shipping and loadout activities

Make sure materials are properly loaded, secured, and ready for transport

Check material markings, load quantities, and shipping paperwork for accuracy

Work with production, logistics, and shop teams to keep shipments on schedule

Maintain load tickets and shipping records using production/shipping software

Train and assist new employees

Conduct daily safety meetings and reinforce shop safety procedures

Help identify ways to improve shipping and loadout processes

Provide hands-on leadership in a busy manufacturing environment

What You’ll Need 5+ years of experience in structural steel material handling or shipping

2+ years of lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience

Experience operating overhead cranes, telehandlers, vertical mast lifts, and forklifts

Familiarity with Tekla EPMgo or similar production/shipping software preferred

Strong organization, communication, and leadership skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Strong focus on safety and quality
