CNC Structural Steel Machine Operator

CNC Beam Processing Operator Location: York, PA Shift: 2nd Shift Job Type: Contract to Hire Pay: Starting at $22.00/hour, with higher pay available depending on experience 2nd Shift Differential: +$3.00/hour Position Overview We are looking for a CNC Beam Processing Operator to run automated equipment used to cut and prepare structural steel beams, columns, channels, and other steel components. The role includes machine setup, material movement, part inspection, and production support.

Responsibilities Prepare and operate CNC coping and cutting equipment.

Process structural steel beams, columns, channels, and other components.

Review shop drawings and dimensions before and during production.

Move steel materials using overhead cranes and forklifts.

Perform programmed coping, cutting, drilling, and related machine operations.

Check completed parts with tape measures, calipers, squares, and other measuring tools.

Change tooling and make basic machine adjustments as needed.

Troubleshoot basic CNC equipment issues and perform routine machine maintenance.

Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

Maintain production schedules while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications 2+ years of CNC machine operation experience.

CNC coping or beam line experience strongly preferred.

Structural steel fabrication experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural steel shop drawings.

Experience with machine setup, tooling changes, and basic CNC troubleshooting.

Skilled in using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other measuring equipment.

Experience working with overhead cranes and forklifts.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety and product quality.
