Job Title: Clinical Psychologist – Eating Disorders

Banding: Band 8a equivalent Location: The Lilac Tree Clinic, Sheffield Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday Salary: £53,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Join a pioneering, newly established Eating Disorders Day Treatment Unit, where your expertise will directly impact the lives of adults on their recovery journey. This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialist, independent clinic offering evidence-based interventions in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Located in the heart of Sheffield, the clinic operates in partnership with local healthcare providers and is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

As a Practitioner Psychologist, you’ll be at the heart of patient care, delivering psychological assessments and therapies tailored to individuals with eating disorders. Your role will include:

Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments

Delivering CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based therapies

Collaborating with psychiatrists, dietitians, nurses, and therapists

Engaging patients and families with clear, compassionate communication

Contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement

Supporting staff training and mentoring junior clinicians

Participating in research and integrating findings into practice

Qualifications and Experience

We welcome applications from candidates who meet most of the following criteria:

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy or equivalent)

HCPC registration

Experience in the psychological treatment of eating disorders

Strong clinical and diagnostic skills

Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities

Desirable but not essential:

Additional training in CBT, DBT, or eating disorder-specific therapies

Experience in day treatment or inpatient settings

Research experience or publications
