About the role Staff Equipment Control at a container depot responsible for monitoring container position, status, quantity, and availability daily within and outside the depot area. The role involves recording and updating container data, ensuring accuracy in systems and manual reports, controlling data consistency between systems and field conditions, and coordinating with multiple teams on container-related activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor container position, status, quantity, and availability daily inside and outside the depot area
  • Record and update container data including gate in, gate out, receiving, delivery, stuffing, stripping, repair, washing, and survey activities according to operational activities
  • Ensure container data, container numbers, size/type, condition, cargo status, and seal data are accurately recorded in systems and manual reports
  • Control alignment between system data, operational documents, and physical container conditions in the field
  • Create container stock reports, movement reports, daily activity reports, and data discrepancy reports as needed
  • Coordinate with gate team, yard, planner, equipment operators, surveyor, checker, customer service, and shipping parties regarding container activities
  • Follow up on data discrepancies, unupdated containers, overdue containers, and document-activity mismatches
  • Monitor status of Empty Release Orders, Delivery Orders, container interchange receipts, and supporting documents according to company procedures
  • Support container placement in yard according to designated block, row, bay, and location
  • Support periodic container inventory and stock opname processes

About you

  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; D3/S1 in Logistics, Transportation, Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, or related fields is a plus
  • Minimum 1 year experience as Equipment Control, Yard Control, Admin Operasional, Gate Officer, or similar position at container depot, shipping company, logistics, freight forwarding, or container terminal; fresh graduates with strong interest in logistics operations are welcome to apply
  • Understand container depot operational flow including receiving, delivery, gate in, gate out, stuffing, stripping, washing, repair, and survey processes
  • Understand container types and sizes such as dry container, reefer, open top, flat rack, and 20 feet and 40 feet sizes
  • Understand basic container and shipping operational terms such as EIR, ERO, DO, BL, seal number, container condition, damaged container, empty container, and laden container
  • Able to operate Microsoft Office well, particularly Microsoft Excel for data processing, recapitulation, and report making
  • Possess neat administrative capability, meticulous in data entry, and able to work with high transaction volume
  • Able to use or willing to learn depot operational systems, terminal operating systems, or container inventory applications
  • Possess good communication and coordination capability with internal team, customers, vendors, and shipping parties
  • Able to work independently and in teams, possess initiative, and able to resolve operational problems quickly and accurately
