Pay: $23.00/hour Location: Chicago, IL located at both 360 N Green and 800 Fulton (only a 3 minute walk!) Schedule: Please note this would be an on-call position. Your Mission: Your mission as a Front Desk Associate is to create a welcoming, seamless experience for every member and tenant who enters the fitness center. As a key part of the day-to-day operation, you’ll combine genuine hospitality with hands-on facility support to help keep the space clean, organized, well-stocked, and ready for members throughout the day. You’ll be a go-to resource for members, assisting with everything from tours and membership needs to general questions, while helping ensure the fitness center consistently reflects Playbook’s high standards for service and experience.

Responsibilities: Deliver Exceptional Member Service: Greet members and tenants with a friendly, professional approach and provide responsive support throughout their experience in the fitness center.

Support Front Desk & Member Services: Assist with membership signups, cancellations, tours, general questions, and other front desk needs while helping members navigate the fitness center and its offerings. Respond to member and tenant needs with professionalism, communicate issues appropriately, and partner with the broader team to maintain Playbook’s service standards.

Open & Close the Fitness Center: Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities to ensure the space is safe, organized, stocked, and ready for daily operations.

Maintain a Clean & Welcoming Environment: Support general cleaning throughout the fitness center and help ensure member-facing spaces remain presentable and well maintained. Clean, fold, organize, and restock towels and regularly replenish locker room supplies to maintain a consistent member experience.

Support Daily Fitness Center Operations: Monitor the space throughout your shift, identify needs as they arise, and take initiative to help keep operations running smoothly.

Requirements: 2+ years of experience in customer service, front desk, hospitality, retail, or another guest-facing environment.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming experience for members and tenants.

Experience working in a fitness center, gym, wellness facility, or similar environment preferred.

Comfortable balancing front desk responsibilities with hands-on operational tasks, including cleaning, towel service, and restocking.

Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Must be available to work on call shifts primarily between Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Flexibility to provide additional coverage as needed is a plus.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
