Veterinary Nurse - Housecall Pet Care

Key Responsibilities Provide housecall nursing care for dogs, cats and other companion animals Administer prescribed medications, injections and subcutaneous fluids Perform basic wound cleaning, dressing and bandage changes Assist with blood collection and other veterinary procedures Perform manual bladder expression where appropriate and instructed Support assisted feeding and feeding-tube care Measure and record relevant patient parameters such as blood pressure and other observations Assist veterinarians during housecall consultations and procedures Provide safe and appropriate animal handling and restraint Prepare and maintain medical equipment, medications and consumables required for appointments Maintain accurate records of nursing care provided Follow infection control, medication handling and patient safety protocols Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding nursing instructions and aftercare Escalate changes or concerns regarding a patient's condition to the attending veterinarian or appropriate clinical team Support palliative, hospice and end-of-life patients where required Assist with other veterinary and operational duties where necessary
