Position: R&D Manager – ROV & Subsea Survey Operations
Job Summary
Lead research and development initiatives for ROV and subsea survey technologies to enhance project efficiency, safety, and performance. Manage R&D projects and collaborate with operations and technical teams to advance subsea survey systems and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and evaluate new technologies relevant to offshore, subsea, survey, positioning, and ROV operations to identify innovation opportunities
- Develop and implement technical solutions that improve operational efficiency, systems, and processes
- Lead R&D projects by planning, testing, evaluating, and implementing new technologies and methods
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and technical teams to diagnose technical challenges and deliver effective solutions
- Liaise with technology providers, equipment manufacturers, and external partners to support R&D initiatives
- Prepare detailed technical reports, feasibility studies, specifications, and recommendations for management decision-making
- Monitor industry and technology trends to inform the company’s long-term ROV and subsea technology development strategy
- Maintain comprehensive R&D documentation, procedures, and project records to ensure knowledge retention and compliance
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline
- Interest or knowledge in offshore, marine, subsea, ROV, survey, or positioning technologies
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to evaluate technical information and develop practical solutions
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
