What you’ll be doing: Lead whole-school strategy for achievement, assessment, qualifications and careers. Drive improvements in student progress, attainment and destination outcomes. Develop an outstanding careers and employability programme that prepares students for life beyond school. Embed meaningful careers education across the curriculum. Use assessment and performance data to identify priorities and raise standards. Support and develop high-quality teaching and learning through coaching, monitoring and professional development. Lead on qualification pathways, examinations and accreditation opportunities. Contribute to school improvement planning and strategic decision-making as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. Build strong partnerships with families, employers, colleges and external agencies to expand opportunities for students. Who we’re looking for: We're seeking an inspirational educational leader who combines strategic thinking with a genuine commitment to helping young people thrive. Significant teaching and leadership experience within education. A proven track record of driving improvement and raising outcomes. Strong expertise in assessment, data analysis and school improvement. Experience supporting students with SEND, including SEMH, Autism and complex needs. A sound understanding of EHCPs, the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive practice. The ability to inspire, coach and develop colleagues. Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills. The confidence to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day visibility across the school. GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent. QTS (desirable). About Us Hemlock Stone School in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire opened in March 2026, and caters for up to 66 students, providing a specialist learning environment for young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Complex Needs. At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.
