MACHINIST

Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC lathe machines to perform machining operations. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and work instructions. Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on workpieces. Perform turning, threading, boring, drilling, facing, knurling, and other machining processes. Select appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feeds based on material specifications. Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges. Ensure machined parts meet required tolerances, dimensions, and quality standards. Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure equipment reliability. Identify and troubleshoot machining problems and recommend corrective actions. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain accurate production and maintenance records as required. Assist in repairing, rebuilding, and fabricating machine parts, shafts, bushings, and other mechanical components. Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and quality inspectors regarding production requirements. Perform other related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications/Requirements: Qualifications Vocational Diploma, Technical Course, or College Level in Machining Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related field. At least 1–3 years of experience as a Lathe Machinist or in a similar machining role. Knowledge of conventional and/or CNC lathe machine operations. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications. Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Physically fit and able to work in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
