Junior Data Analyst
Company Description Murphy-Fotsis Lab operates within the Vascular Biology Laboratory at the Biomedical Research Institute, FORTH, in Ioannina, Greece. The lab focuses on understanding mechanisms that regulate vascular function and disease using quantitative and data-driven approaches. Role Description This full-time, on-site Junior Data Analyst role is based in Tema and supports ongoing vascular biology research projects. The Junior Data Analyst will collect, clean, and organize experimental and clinical datasets; perform basic statistical analyses; and generate tables, charts, and other visualizations to communicate findings. The role involves building and maintaining data pipelines, documenting workflows, and ensuring data quality and integrity. The Junior Data Analyst will work closely with senior researchers to prepare data summaries for internal reports, presentations, and publications, while following established protocols and research standards. Candidates should possess foundational data analysis skills, including experience with spreadsheets, basic statistics, and data visualization tools. Candidates should possess basic programming or scripting abilities (e.g., Python, R, or MATLAB) for data manipulation and analysis. Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in handling datasets. Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills for summarizing results and collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams. Candidates should possess the ability to follow scientific protocols, document workflows clearly, and manage time and tasks in a laboratory research setting. A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant internships or academic projects are beneficial. Familiarity with research environments, ethical data handling, and an interest in vascular biology or biomedical research will be considered an advantage.
