ServiceNow Cloud Migration Engineer

Summary

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Cloud Migration Engineer to lead and carry out the migration of a ServiceNow platform from on-premises (self-hosted) to the cloud, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will assess the current ServiceNow environment, plan the migration, and move instances, data, customizations, and integrations to the cloud securely, with minimal downtime and no data loss. You will work closely with platform owners, infrastructure, security, and business teams through to go-live.

Must have: Proven hands-on experience migrating ServiceNow from on-premises (self-hosted) to the cloud. Applicants without this experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current on-premises ServiceNow environment, including instances, versions, customizations, scoped apps, integrations, and data volumes.
• Plan the migration approach, timeline, cutover, and rollback plans.
• Prepare and build the target cloud environment, preferably on GCP, including networking, security, access, and connectivity.
• Migrate ServiceNow instances, configurations, customizations, and data to the cloud.
• Reconfigure and test integrations, MID Servers, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP, and LDAP/SSO connections after migration.
• Review and fix customizations and scripts so they work in the cloud and on the target version, upgrading where needed.
• Run full testing, including functional, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing, using the Automated Test Framework (ATF) where possible.
• Ensure the migrated platform meets security, compliance, and data residency requirements.
• Keep downtime to a minimum during cutover, then provide hypercare support after go-live.
• Create clear documentation, runbooks, and handover materials for the platform and operations teams.

Requirements

• Must have: Hands-on experience migrating ServiceNow from on-premises (self-hosted) to the cloud.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of ServiceNow experience in administration, development, or architecture.
• Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, including instance management, upgrades, cloning, update sets, scoped applications, data import/export, and the CMDB.
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations, including MID Server, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and LDAP/SSO.
• Strong ServiceNow scripting skills, including JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, and Client Scripts.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially migrating workloads to GCP.
• Experience with ServiceNow modules beyond the core platform, including:
• ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request)
• HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
• Legal Service Delivery, including contract management
• Other modules such as ITOM, ITAM, CSM, GRC/IRM, or SPM
• ServiceNow certifications, such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS-ITSM, CIS-HR, etc.), or Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
• Google Cloud certifications, such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect.
• Experience in the Saudi or GCC market, including local data residency requirements.
