Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience.

Work setting:

Various locations.

Tasks:

• Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to work safety, environmental safety and accident prevention..
• Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public.
• Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations .
• Train staff.
• Establish and implement policies and procedures.
• Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products.
• Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards.
• Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses.
• Oversee development of communication strategies.
• Develop and implement health and safety plans.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
• Oversee the preparation of reports.
• Advise senior management.
• Respond to employee questions and complaints.
• Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
• Participate in safety audits and programs.
• Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.

Experience:

1 year to less than 2 years.
